The two excellent
soloists of the evening, Rachel Abbott and David Heathcote gave sizzling
performances of well-loved favourites “Can’t help lovin’ that Man” and
“In the still of the Night” as well as more unusual contemporary numbers
“Poisoning pigeons in the Park” and “The Girl in 14G”.
Tim Kennedy proved what a superb solo player he is in wonderful
performances of Sinding’s “Rustle of Spring” and the much neglected
Samuel Coleridge-Taylor’s “Let us cheer the weary Traveller”.
