It's hard to believe, but I'm very excited to announce
that this is Music Kitchen's 10 Year Anniversary!
That's 10 years of bringing great concerts to the
homeless in New York City, Los Angeles and even
Paris, France!  To be exact, that's 78 concerts,
over
150 artists, 10 Shelters and Soup Kitchens,
and over 12,000 Homeless clients reached!!
THANK YOU to all of you who helped make these first 10 years possible!!
What better way to celebrate the first 10 years than being
awarded a grant from the Sphinx Organization!  Since
I  have served as Concertmaster of the Sphinx Symphony
Orchestra several times over the years, I earned the
right to compete for a Sphinx Artist MPower Grant.  I am
happy to report that I was one of 19 artists selected
nationally to win a grant, and was awarded to fund my
Music Kitchen projects for the '15-'16 season, including
concerts in LA with Glenn Dicterow and encore
performances in NYC of the Stravinsky Soldier's Tale,
where I was joined by a wonderful group comprised of
players from Carnegie Ensemble ACJW, Liam Burke and
Shelley Monroe Huang, Metropolitan Opera, Billy Hunter,
Weston Sprott, and Dan Krekeler, plus my husband,
freelance percussionist Joe Tompkins.
Thanks again for all you do!
Cheers,
Kelly
