Imani Winds: 'Emerging Composers Program provides a unique opportunity to write chamber music in a collaborative environment.'

For composers 16 and over, ECP is a mentorship and development program that provides a unique opportunity to write chamber music in a collaborative environment. For the 2013 season, up to 7 composers will be selected to work with Composer-in-Residence Eric Ewazen, Imani Winds, the ensemble’s in-house composers Jeff Scott and Valerie Coleman, and other critically acclaimed guest composers. ECP curriculum includes:

Reading/mentorship sessions with Imani Winds.

Substantial rehearsals and readings in collaboration with top ensembles


ECP DUAL PROGRAM: Composers who are also advanced instrumentalists are welcome to apply for admission into this program, as a special opportunity to work within both disciplines of performance and composition.  ECP Dual fellows will be placed in his/her own Fellowship or GCM ensemble, experience its full curriculum AND fully participate in ECP’s activities. In addition to performing your 
own works, ECP Dual Fellows perform other repertoire chosen by the ensemble.
