I once heard Malcolm X's daughter say 'every time an elder dies, it is like a library burning down.' Thanks to Maestro John McLaughlinWilliams and others, the William Grant Still library is still open for appreciation and recognition.”

Bill, you're very kind to put this up, but I don't think I deserve it. It's an old performance, but I thought that with so few of Still's works readily available, having one more that hasn't been widely heard could only be a good thing. There's so much unheard Still, and some of us know that his best has not yet been recorded.
