AfriClassical has received a press release from Marlon Daniel, Music Director and Conductor of Ensemble du Monde:
“Welcome to the 2009/10 Ensemble du Monde season at Merkin Concert Hall at Kaufman Center. This season we have planned three spectacular concerts that include innovative programming and world-class soloists. The line up starts with an all Vivaldi concert, on Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009 at 7:00 pm, ‘Wonders of the Red Priest’, featuring brilliant Italian flutist Antonio Amenduni, the beautiful voice of mezzo-soprano Lara Nie and winner of the Henryk Szeryng International Violin Competition, violinist Koh Gabriel Kameda. Tickets $50, seniors/students $30. Available at the Merkin Hall box office and online at
http://www.kaufman-center.com

“In our second concert, ‘Classical Innovators’, the works of Beethoven, Grétry, Mozart and Boulogne (
Le Chevalier de Saint-Georges), will never sound so fresh as when they include French Caribbean super star soprano Magali Léger, making her New York début. The final concert on the season ‘Modern Serenade’ will move you in ways that are not normally associated with contemporary music and features up and coming virtuosos flautist Crystal Zagarello, pianist Kimball Gallagher and newly appointed member of Canadian Brass, trumpeter Christopher Coletti. I look forward to seeing you, Marlon Daniel" [Le Chevalier de Saint-Georges (1745-1799) is profiled at AfriClassical.com]
